Job Summary

The Ministry of Defence employs a diverse workforce, with various roles across different functions and professions. As a key player in the Army's operations, the Logistics Manager will be responsible for providing assurance across the provision of stores and equipment, as well as telecommunications functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising the Head of Establishment on all provision of stores and equipment matters.
  • Management and control of all Station Site Assets and building moves, authorized by the Head of Establishment.
  • Responsible for the management of Station facilities and services, ensuring they meet the needs of the customer.
  • Liaison with Industry Partners, attending meetings on behalf of the Head of Establishment, prioritizing works in support of the Estate Management Plan.
  • Processing all works requests and Statement of Requirements from all units, prioritizing spend within financial limits approved by the Head of Establishment.
  • Coordinating all Health, Safety, Fire, Environment, Utilities Management, and Environmental matters on behalf of the Head of Establishment.
  • Organizing and chairing meetings with all Garrison Quartermaster lodger units and/or heads of departments.
  • Accountable and responsible for leading all aspects of the management and checks for all GSU accounts, in accordance with current policy.
  • Handling and maintaining all contractor activity, ensuring outages and repairs are rectified across the Station.
  • Acting as Line Manager for designated staff, including Locally Employed Civilians.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills to enable liaison and management of a large diverse set of collaborators and customers.
  • Previous MoD and/or Military experience would be an advantage, with training provided.
  • Experience of logistics management, stores management, and infrastructure management are desirable due to the legislative and compliance requirements delegated by the Head of Establishment.
  • Ability to attend the All-Arms Quartermaster course, if not already qualified, with support to gain the qualification after appointment.
