We are seeking a highly skilled PhD researcher to join our team at the Bosch Group. As a PhD researcher in PEM electrolysis modeling, you will play a crucial role in advancing our understanding of electrode function and performance in low-temperature electrolysis.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and enhance existing models of the membrane-electrode-assembly (MEA) in PEM electrolyzers, focusing on functional phenomena that limit performance or operation range.
- Make maximum use of public and internal sources to parametrize and validate your models, ensuring their universality and applicability to both pristine and degraded states of the MEA.
- Carry out model-based analyses to boost our understanding of cause-effect relationships and identify improvement measures for our technology, and propose experiments for more advanced model development and validation.
- Work closely with our internal team and academic environment to share knowledge and results in high-impact journals, leveraging our interdisciplinary and international expertise.
- Stay up-to-date with external and internal knowledge to deliver a valuable contribution to our electrolyzer model.
- Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Strong background in electrochemistry and transport phenomena, with experience in modeling and/or characterization of electrochemical energy storage devices or converters.
- Programming skills in languages such as Python, as well as experience with simulation tools like Comsol or numerical optimization methods.
- Business fluent in English, with German being an advantage.
