Mechanical Design Engineer for Power Transformers

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Power Transformers to manage our projects in this area. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in electrical engineering, specifically focused on power systems and transformers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design process to optimize technical and cost criteria based on customer specifications and input from the electrical designer.
  • Review existing CAD designs and identify elements that need to be updated or modified to align with branding standards.
  • Define the type and configuration of the transformer tanks, the position and details of the cooling system, and other exterior components.
  • Complete design modeling with the Computer-aided design system to produce manufacturing drawings.
  • Compile approval documentation for customers, prepare structural analysis, and initiate pre-orders for various components.

  • Be responsible for tender preparation and other activities, technical cooperation with mechanical and electrical designs, workshop, project management, and suppliers, as well as direct contact with customers.
  • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently, as well as confidence and good communication skills in English.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Good basic electrical engineering and transformer-specific knowledge.
  • Good German and English language skills.
  • Ability to work closely with mechanical and electrical designers, workshop, and suppliers, and contribute to a team.
  • Professional experience in mechanics.
