About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Machines Design Specialist to join our team at HITACHI ENERGY GERMANY AG. As a key member of our global technology team, you will be responsible for supporting the development and market introduction of Industrial & Speciality (I&S) Transformers.

Your Responsibilities

  • Drive and complete activities related to the introduction of new features and technology within the I&S Transformer product line, with a focus on Rectifiers.
  • Support design, production, and testing of Transformers, ensuring high-quality products that meet customer needs.
  • Collect requirements and define specifications for new features and improvements of the global design platform, related to design and verification tools.
  • Closely cooperate with factories and global functions during the execution of pilot projects.
  • Assist and support during the transfer of technology projects across factories.
  • Support the product platform with the creation of new and the update of existing technical standards, methods, and reports.
  • Provide technology and technical training to designers and expertise support to the engineering teams.

Your Requirements

  • Successful study (Bachelor or Masters) in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of significant professional experience in designing electrical machines, with a strong preference for experience in transformer design within power transformer technology, especially those related to railway and rectifier transformers.
  • Skills in field simulations (2D and 3D magnetic simulations) will be an advantage.
  • Project Management experience will be an advantage.
  • Design Tools owner competencies within Agile methodology will be an advantage, as well as involvement in the development of software design tools (creation and/or specification).
  • Willing to work in a remote and diverse environment.
  • Willingness to travel to factories when needed.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluent English, experience with writing technical papers and/or reports.
