Tax Director

Linde GmbH, a leading global industrial gases and engineering company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Director to lead its Income Tax Team Germany. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing tax returns and other filings, reviewing tax assessments, and providing tax advisory to German businesses.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Income Tax Team Germany (3-4 Certified Tax Advisors)
- Prepare tax returns and other filings, review tax assessments
- Provide tax advisory to German businesses (support in business projects, tax and accounting questions, domestic restructurings)
- Support German income tax audits
- Prepare monthly tax reporting for US GAAP group reporting, Year End tax reporting for statutory accounts, and quarterly tax cash forecasts
- Support tax planning team on tax accounting impacts of projects
- University degree in Taxes, Finance, Accounting, or Economics. Qualification as German tax advisor (Steuerberater)
- Long-term relevant professional working experience in tax department of public accounting firm or multinational company and excellent knowledge and experience in direct tax
- Excellent knowledge of US GAAP Tax Accounting and in-depth knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, including HGB (German GAAP)
- Ability to think big picture and understand impact of tax on business-driven transactions
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment independently
- Strong communication skills and ability to present complex topics to management
- Fluency in English and German essential
