Research Scientist in Neuroimmunology

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic PhD student to join our research group at the interface of neuroscience and immunology. The successful candidate will be part of the 'Translational Neuroimmunology' research group, led by Dr. Róisín McManus, and will contribute to our understanding of how microglia-mediated neuroinflammation contributes to the progression of Alzheimer's disease.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research on the role of microglia in neuroinflammation and Alzheimer's disease
  • Develop and implement novel experimental approaches to study microglial function and neuroinflammation
  • Collaborate with international scientists and researchers in the field
  • Present research findings at national and international conferences
Requirements:
  • MSc degree in Immunology, Neuroscience, Biology or a related field
  • Previous experience in experimental animal work and immunology, neuroscience or cell metabolism research
  • FELASA accreditation is a strong plus
  • Hands-on experience in cell culture and biochemistry techniques
  • Fluency in English for communicating, writing, and presentation of scientific data
