Research Scientist in Neuroimmunology

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Research Scientist to join our team at the DZNE in Bonn, Germany. As a member of the Translational Neuroimmunology research group, you will contribute to our understanding of how microglia-mediated neuroinflammation contributes to the progression of Alzheimer's disease.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research on the interface of neuroscience and immunology, focusing on microglia-mediated neuroinflammation and its role in Alzheimer's disease.
  • Design and execute experiments using animal models, cell culture models, and human samples to unravel the innate immune pathways mediating neuroinflammatory changes.
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement novel research approaches and techniques to study microglial function and its impact on disease outcome.
  • Present research findings at national and international conferences and publish results in top-tier scientific journals.
Requirements:
  • MSc degree in Immunology, Neuroscience, Biology, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in experimental animal work, immunology, neuroscience, or cell metabolism research is highly desirable.
  • FELASA accreditation is a strong plus.
  • Hands-on experience in cell culture, biochemistry techniques, and immunohistochemistry or flow cytometry is essential.
  • Fluency in English for communicating, writing, and presenting scientific data.
