Academic Employee Position in Applied Data Science

SRH Hochschule Heidelberg is a leading private university in Germany, recognized and accredited by the German Science Council. We are seeking an Academic Employee with a focus on teaching for our new Campus in Hamburg to start as soon as possible on a full-time basis. The position is initially limited to two years.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Competence-oriented teaching at the Master's level in English, in the particular field of handling large amounts of data and machine learning, natural language processing and deep learning
  • Supervision of case studies, internships and master thesis projects
  • Willingness to provide intensive support to students in their respective case studies each semester
  • Handling and maintaining the data infrastructure
  • Participation in the further development of the study program and in academic self-administration
  • Supervision of research projects and master's theses in the aforementioned areas
Requirements:
  • Completed university studies (Master of Science or doctorate is desired) in a professionally related field
  • Experience in teaching and research in applied data science as well as openness to new technologies
  • Practical knowledge with teaching experience with programming languages such as Python, R
  • Experience with tools like Tableau, OpenRefine
  • Relevant publications in these areas
  • Independent and responsible way of working
  • Very good English skills, high intercultural and social competence
