Job Description

We are seeking an Academic Employee (f/m/d) with a focus on teaching and research in Applied Data Science to join our team at our new Campus in Hamburg. The position is a full-time, two-year appointment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach competence-oriented courses at the Master's level in English, focusing on handling large amounts of data, machine learning, natural language processing, and deep learning.
  • Supervise case studies, internships, and master's thesis projects.
  • Provide intensive support to students in their respective case studies each semester.
  • Manage and maintain the data infrastructure.
  • Contribute to the further development of the study program and academic self-administration.
  • Supervise research projects and master's theses in the aforementioned areas.
Requirements
  • Completed university studies (Master of Science or doctorate) in a related field.
  • Experience in teaching and research in Applied Data Science, with a willingness to adapt to new technologies.
  • Practical knowledge of programming languages such as Python and R.
  • Experience with tools like Tableau and OpenRefine.
  • Relevant publications in the field.
  • Independent and responsible work style.
  • Excellent English skills and high intercultural and social competence.
