French Translator

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled French translator with expertise in economics, finance, and central banking to join our team at the European Central Bank. As a French translator, you will be responsible for translating complex economic texts from English into French, revising and proofreading existing texts, and working collaboratively with other translators to produce high-quality communications in French.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate economic texts from English into French, adhering to the mother-tongue principle and ensuring accuracy and fluency.
• Revise and proofread existing texts written in French, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Work collaboratively with other translators to produce high-quality communications in French, including articles, reports, and other materials.
• Contribute to the development of terminology in French, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in economics, finance, and central banking, and apply this knowledge to your translation work.

Requirements

• A master's degree or equivalent in translation, modern languages, or a related field.
• A minimum of two years' experience as a professional translator working from English into French, with expertise in economics, finance, and central banking.
• Experience working with computer-assisted translation tools and a native speaker-standard command of French and an advanced command of English.
