Building IoT Solution Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Building IoT Solution Engineer to join our team at Susteco. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in integrating and onboarding building data into our cloud platform from various data sources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Integration and Onboarding: Integrate and onboard building data into our cloud platform from various data sources, including BMS systems and their cloud connectors.
  • Customer and Partner Collaboration: Work closely with our customers and partners to onboard buildings on our data platform and support integration projects to extend our compatibility with existing BMS systems.
  • Technical Process Improvement: Utilize our cloud services, in-house solutions, and scripting experience to identify improvements on the technical onboarding process of partners and buildings, and express them as technical requirements to enhance our product.
  • Integration Project Steering: Utilize your knowledge in building automation and management systems, as well as industry protocols (e.g. BACnet, OPC-UA, and Modbus), to steer our integration projects effectively while satisfying our customers and partners.
  • Internal Collaboration: Actively participate in internal project teams and work closely with our DevOps teams to provide requirements to our internal development team.
  • Technical Requirements Analysis: Support the analysis of technical requirements and feasibility when approaching customers and partners.
Requirements
  • Education: Completed university studies in computer science, information technology, system integration, building automation, business informatics, or a comparable subject.
  • Experience and Knowledge: Work experience in integrating building solutions based on platform APIs, knowledge about steering external partners, and domain knowledge in building automation or energy optimization or metering (e.g. BACnet, Modbus, MBUS), knowledge with automation systems (e.g. Niagara, Siemens Disego, Schneider, Beckhoff), experience with Azure IoT (or AWS, Google Cloud) is a plus, background in real estate domain and Python skills (or bash scripting tools) are ideal.
  • Personality and Working Practice: Self-starter with a hands-on mentality, capacity to steer projects and derive technical requirements, communicative to express requirements internally and externally.
  • Enthusiasm: Open-minded and willing to learn about our domain, not afraid of having technical conversations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Languages: Business fluent in written and spoken German and English.
