The Manufacturing Program Manager is a key position at Tallahassee Community College, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Center (AMTC). This individual will lead the development and implementation of new programs and courses, ensuring the quality and efficiency of customer service, performance, and community outreach.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development and Management: Develop and oversee the annual budget for programs, including monthly billing and the finalization of annual closeout documents. Assist with grant writing and establish cooperative linkages and partnerships within the community to foster the importance of integrating education and employment training systems.
- Staff Supervision and Training: Supervise the AMTC staff, develop work schedules, and prepare staff assignments. Conduct performance evaluations and support staff development activities. Provide direction and support to staff to ensure they clearly understand their responsibilities and assignments.
- Community Outreach and Partnerships: Participate in community relations activities, establish effective relationships with agencies, community groups, and business partners. Develop and maintain strong community partnerships, recommending and overseeing the service delivery model for the AMTC.
- Curriculum Development and Delivery: Develop and maintain a current and comprehensive occupational library, including information on careers and meta-majors, employment prospects, workforce trends, and employment requirements. Coordinate with the Director of Business and Industry and the IT Department to ensure the availability of hardware, software, internet, and information systems to support the delivery of courses and programs.
- Marketing and Sales: Market and sell training and other services provided by the college, collaborating with other TCC employees and community resources. Utilize problem-solving techniques, critical thinking, and effective communication skills to achieve goals and objectives.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Manufacturing Technology, Materials Science, Industrial Management, Engineering, or a related field. Two years of project management or related experience required. A master's degree in a related field is preferred and may substitute for one year of the required experience.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of TCC policy and procedures, project development and management, office procedures and practices, administrative principles and practices, and best practices in training. Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet software, and other software. Ability to market and sell training and other services, collaborate with other employees, and utilize technology in training.
