Director of Internal Audit

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will serve as the Director of Internal Audit (m/f/d), overseeing a dedicated team on a global scale. You will collaborate closely with HELM's Management Board, various Business Units, and Corporate & Service Functions, reporting directly to the CEO while leveraging your expertise in the following key areas:
- Ensure adherence to legal regulations and corporate policies at HELM, providing support to the Executive Board and CEO on all audit-related matters.
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of HELM's Internal Control System, aligning its development with the strategic objectives of the organization.
- Assist the Executive Board in pinpointing organizational weaknesses and propose actionable solutions.
- Identify and promote innovative improvement opportunities that extend beyond traditional auditing practices.
- Contribute to HELM's risk-oriented audit planning by formulating an annual audit strategy based on comprehensive risk assessments, in collaboration with the Executive Board. In instances of fraud, you and your team will conduct thorough investigations and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
- Establish efficient project and communication frameworks to guide all relevant functions associated with internal audit operations (including ICOS, Compliance, Controlling, and Quality Management).
Candidate Profile:
- A degree in auditing, finance, or a related field with a specialization in auditing and governance.
- Extensive professional experience in international organizations, providing a robust understanding of diverse auditing, finance, or governance areas.
- Ability to grasp the business dynamics of a family-owned enterprise and simplify complex challenges.
- A methodical and results-driven approach, demonstrating a proactive mindset with a focus on business processes and analytical comprehension.
- Proficient in utilizing IT applications, with a preference for candidates familiar with SAP.
- A communicative, empathetic, and authentic personality, characterized by a positive demeanor and strong intercultural competencies, with a focus on solution-oriented outcomes.
- Excellent presentation skills in English, both written and verbal, with additional proficiency in German and/or Spanish being advantageous.
