Head of Corporate Communications for Europe

The Head of Corporate Communications for Europe will be responsible for shaping the external presence and reputation of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in key international markets. This role involves close collaboration with the Corporate Affairs team to develop and execute communication strategies tailored to local audiences while advancing business objectives.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate and Digital Communications, the position encompasses various in-country activities, including media engagement, corporate press releases, executive visibility, thought leadership opportunities, spokesperson training, digital storytelling, content development, and paid awareness campaigns in priority markets. A strong partnership with Product & Pipeline Communications will ensure effective dissemination of product news within each market. Additionally, collaboration with Patient Advocacy and Corporate Responsibility teams will ensure that local communications reflect Regeneron's patient-focused and ethical approach.
The role also involves working closely with Internal Communications to enhance information-sharing and morale among international colleagues through intranet features, executive visits, and other programming.
Success in this position requires establishing and nurturing relationships with functional leaders in international markets, including site leads, regulatory, legal, and compliance teams. The role demands a balance between maintaining consistency in corporate messaging across regions while allowing for flexibility to accommodate local regulations and customs.
As a liaison and strategic partner within Corporate Affairs, this role will communicate international decisions, updates, and issues that may impact activities, ensuring that corporate information is effectively shared across international markets.
A strong understanding of the global healthcare and regulatory environment, as well as the scientific and media landscapes, is essential. The candidate should possess a cross-functional mindset and prioritize the company's interests as they work to shape and protect Regeneron's corporate reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional initiatives, manage a small team, and direct a global communications agency while coordinating closely with Corporate Communications leadership.
- Collaborate across Corporate Affairs to create digital content for in-country websites, issue local disclosures, and support outreach efforts by Patient Advocacy and local sales teams.
- Build and maintain relationships with in-country functional leaders in Commercial, Global Development, and General & Administrative functions.
- Enhance corporate awareness and reputation in Europe through structured media engagement and thought leadership opportunities.
- Adapt corporate content for local markets, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and medical standards.
- Act as an ambassador for the corporate brand, ensuring alignment with corporate guidelines.
- Support initiatives that promote a strong organizational culture through global and local employee engagement strategies.
- Identify operational gaps to improve efficiency in processes and policies.
- Continuously assess priorities and country requests in a dynamic operating environment.
The role is both strategic and tactical, involving landscape analyses, market-specific awareness strategies, and the development of standard toolkits for local customization. Required skills include strategic planning, creative execution, media relations, content creation, and cultural sensitivity.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 12 years of relevant communications experience in the biopharma industry.
- Exceptional communication skills with global and in-country expertise.
- Experience in public relations, particularly in building corporate reputation.
- High professionalism and diplomatic skills with a focus on collaboration.
- Strong analytical abilities and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Flexibility to engage in both high-level strategy and tactical execution.
- Experience in creating content across integrated digital media formats.
- Ability to lead agency partners and manage resources effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Passion for science and patient impact, with a desire to learn.
- Willingness to participate in meetings across different time zones and travel internationally as needed.
- Fluency in German and English; additional languages are a plus.
