We are seeking a highly skilled Installation and Maintenance Technician to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa.

Job Summary:

The Installation and Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing skilled repairs and maintenance work on new or existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment, including sewage, water, and gas distribution systems, as well as water closets, tubs, and showers.

About the Role:

This role requires a strong technical background, with experience in electrical and carpentry work at the semi-skilled level. The successful candidate will also need to possess excellent communication skills and be able to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform skilled repairs and maintenance work on new or existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment.
  • Work from building plans, blueprints, and sketches to plan and layout the routing, placement, slant, slope, fall, and proper operation of systems and equipment.
  • Remove, clean, replace, pack, and seal items such as valves, pipes, elbows, drains, sinks, and faucets.
  • Repair basins, baths, and toilets.
  • Unplug clogged drains.
  • Perform soldering and welding work.
  • Use the tools of the trade.
  • Perform electrical and carpentry work at the semi-skilled level.
  • Drive military vehicles in the performance of official duties.
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A completed vocational training of at least 30 months in the appropriate trade.
  • 5 years of specialized experience, or
  • Completed vocational training in the appropriate trade PLUS 2 years experience at a level of difficulty comparable to the Wage Group 5 or equivalent, or
  • 8 years of specialized experience of which 3 years must have been performed at the wage group 5 or equivalent level.
  • A valid driver's license class B and the ability to obtain/maintain a military motor vehicle operator's license.
Language Proficiency:

English language proficiency Level A1 and German language proficiency Level B2 required.

Salary:

The estimated salary for this role is $60,000-$80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
