Gene Therapy Research Assistant

Main Responsibilities- Support and collaborate with a multidisciplinary development team to improve AAV-based viral vectors for gene therapy
- Perform cell culture of adherent and suspension mammalian cell lines, ensuring optimal growth and productivity
- Execute small-scale production and purification of AAV vectors, adhering to strict quality control standards
- Conduct a range of analytical assays to characterize AAV vectors, including PCR, sequencing, and ELISA
- Record, document, and report experimental results and data, maintaining accurate and detailed records
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring they are in good working order and calibrated as needed
- Any "Technical Assistant" according to the German educational system (BTA, CTA, MTA, UTA, MLTA,...)
- Any "Laborant" according to the German educational system (Biologie-Laborant, Chemie-Laborant,...)
- Bachelor of Science with a biological, biotechnological, or (bio-)chemical background
- Proficiency in English and German, both written and spoken
- Basic knowledge of gene therapy, AAV vectors, and their applications
- Experience with analytical methods such as qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA
- Experience with adherent and suspension cell culture technology
- A high level of accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail
- Familiarity with electronic laboratory notebooks
- A strong sense of responsibility and initiative
