About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team at METRO GROUP. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring high-quality products for our global operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Global Sourcing: Analyze international market trends, align with sourcing teams in our countries, and derive creative and beneficial solutions.
  • Supplier Management: Lead the global relationship between international teams of strategic suppliers, Metro HQ stakeholders, and various METRO country companies, ensuring suppliers perform in line with our company strategy.
  • Product Development: Define, develop, negotiate, implement, and review the performance of a Global Own Brand Range in our countries.
  • Category Management: Continuously align with our country subsidiaries to harmonize the product range and develop new products to maximize its potential.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate global cross-functional teams (Quality, Packaging, Supply Chain, Marketing) through a clear language and pre-defined Own Brand process.
Requirements
  • Proven Track Record: You have a proven track record of (Frozen) Food - Procurement/Buying/Sourcing in an international set-up.
  • Business Acumen: You are motivated to get to know the B2B Food Wholesale sector by heart and have a strong understanding of business operations.
  • Communication Skills: You are focused on understanding customer needs and have excellent communication skills to cater to them with a strong frozen own brand range on all channels.
  • Negotiation Skills: Negotiations are your thrill, and you take the opportunity to get the best results while building strong and sustainable relationships with your international supplier network.
  • Problem-Solving Capacity: You have problem-solving capacity and analytical thinking skills.
  • Travel Requirements: You love to travel to visit suppliers, trade fairs, or your counterparts in the countries.
  • Language Skills: You speak English fluently and working with MS Office (esp. Excel) belongs to your daily routine.
