Job Title: Senior Manager Export Control Governance

About the Role:

The Senior Manager Export Control Governance will be responsible for ensuring that Covestro's business is conducted in compliance with all export regulations. This includes reviewing trade regulations, restrictions, and sanctions issued by the jurisdictions where Covestro operates, and explaining them to Covestro's business entities and central functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Track and comply with global and national developments in foreign trade law, including changes to regulations and sanctions.
  • Monitor sanctions in relevant jurisdictions, such as the US, China, UK, and EU, and implement and document them within the Covestro Group.
  • Analyze and evaluate foreign trade-related legal developments and derive appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
  • Develop and implement a global export control program, including the Internal Compliance Program.
  • Coordinate training programs for export controls, including the creation and roll-out of training documents and documentation.
  • Operate the global risk management for export control and derive and implement globally valid governance requirements and guidance.
Requirements:
  • Studies in economics, law, business law, or a related field with a focus on foreign trade law, compliance, or a comparable course of study.
  • Several years of relevant professional experience and well-founded knowledge in the field of foreign trade and export control.
  • Experience in processing and implementing sanctions regulations of different countries, taking into account complex global business processes.
  • Strong communication skills, assertiveness, high team orientation, and very good presentation skills.
  • Business fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
