Software Development Engineer for Strategic Projects

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer to join our Strategic Projects team at SAP. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing strategic development projects initiated by our CTO and Head of L1 Unit. Your primary focus will be on development, with a strong emphasis on design, feature development, code testing, architecture, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement strategic development projects with high standards, such as the Corona-Warn-App.
- Help kick-start and support the development of strategic lighthouse projects.
- Work in a project team to ensure the quality of specific product features in the development team.
- Support the team in task coordination and project management, enabling colleagues to work as a self-organized team.
Requirements:
- Degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
- Very good programming skills and strong competencies in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and software design.
- Very good knowledge of state-of-the-art web technologies, including TypeScript, and proficiency in at least one modern JavaScript framework (such as React, Vue, or Svelte).
- Knowledge in Machine Learning, SQL, GraphQL, setup/maintenance of pipelines, Business Technology Platform (BTP) knowledge, and prior experience working with BTP is a plus.
- Ability to analyze and solve issues in existing and new code.
- Strong communication skills to present ideas to stakeholders and senior management.
- Fluent English language skills - both written and verbal (German is a plus).
- First professional work experience in a similar role.

Our Strategic Projects team is part of the Office of the CTO, driving forward T&I's development excellence by developing cutting-edge solutions, especially for strategic CTO topics.
