Recreation Program Coordinator

Job Responsibilities
Oversee the recreational activities for inmates at a significant correctional facility. Design, implement, and manage engaging programs tailored for the inmate population. Ensure proper supervision of inmates during recreational hours. Maintain and organize recreational facilities and equipment. Facilitate community engagement and plan various activities for inmates.
Essential Qualifications
Proficient understanding of various sports, including their rules and regulations to ensure safe participation. Proven ability to design and manage a comprehensive recreational program that includes athletics, arts and crafts, library services, and other leisure activities suitable for adults. Competence in Microsoft Office applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Considerations
Experience in providing recreational programming and supervising such activities. Background in a correctional or law enforcement setting is preferred.

Background Check: All candidates will undergo a thorough background investigation, which may include fingerprinting, local agency checks, employment verification, and educational verification relevant to the position.
Drug Testing: Candidates for safety-sensitive roles will be required to complete a pre-employment drug screening. Use of marijuana is prohibited for positions that necessitate the carrying of a firearm or a Commercial Driver's License.
