About the role
We are in search of a dynamic and experienced Event Sales Specialist to join our team. The perfect candidate will have a strong background in Event Sales management, outstanding communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of the events sector.
As the Event Sales Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to drive revenue growth by identifying, managing, and converting leads into exceptional events. You will collaborate closely with our Community and Operations teams to ensure seamless event execution and meet client expectations, as well as work with our Marketing department to maintain high occupancy rates for our venues.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Formulating and implementing strategic sales initiatives to achieve and surpass revenue goals.
- Managing leads through various stages: proposal, follow-up, negotiation, and contract finalization.
- Facilitating a comprehensive handover to the Community & Operations team, detailing prior discussions, expectations, and requirements for successful event execution.
- Partnering with marketing teams to create promotional materials and enhance marketing strategies.
- Generating new leads and business opportunities through proactive outreach and sales efforts.
- Coordinating local events for industry professionals and potential clients.
- Participating in local networking events and conferences to showcase our offerings.
- Identifying new business opportunities and actively pursuing partnerships with potential clients, event planners, and corporate accounts.
- Monitoring sales performance, analyzing revenue data, and providing data-driven recommendations for enhancement.
- Negotiating contracts and pricing with clients, vendors, and suppliers to optimize profitability.
- Conducting market research to identify trends, competitors, and pricing strategies.
- Building relationships with local competitors and surrounding businesses.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a sales role within the Events or Hospitality sectors (Sales experience is essential).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong negotiation and client relationship management skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with various event spaces and/or event agencies in the region is a plus.
- Proficiency in Salesforce is advantageous.
- Fluency in English at a minimum C1 level (Advanced/Proficient) is required; German is a plus.
