Research Opportunity in Surface Technology

In collaboration with the Chair for Laser Technology at RWTH LLT and the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT, we are offering a research opportunity in the field of surface technology and shape ablation. The project focuses on the processing of transparent materials, such as sapphire, using ultra-short pulsed laser radiation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Familiarize yourself with the topic of 'Processing transparent materials with USP laser radiation'
  • Independently plan and carry out experiments on the SLE laser processing system
  • Measure the transmission using an integrating sphere
  • Perform voltage measurements using polarisation contrast microscopy
  • Analyse, interpret, and prepare the results
Requirements
  • Studying physics or a comparable degree programme
  • Interest in working on an exciting and highly topical subject
  • Motivation to familiarize yourself with a challenging topic and independently develop solutions to potential problems
