Fitness and Wellness Program Coordinator

Job Summary

The Fitness and Wellness Coordinator/Assistant Coach is a dynamic position that requires a unique blend of leadership, communication, and program development skills. This role is responsible for coordinating the operations of the Lifetime Sports Complex Fitness Center, developing and implementing health and wellness programs, and assisting with athletic teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the scheduling and operations of the Lifetime Sports Complex, including staffing, maintenance, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Develop and implement programs and marketing strategies to promote good lifestyle habits, including hygiene, time management, diet, and other life skills.
  • Assist with the recruitment and development of student athletes, including travel arrangements, practice and game preparation, and academic monitoring.
  • Collaborate with the Department of Physical Education faculty, Athletics, and other college officials to develop and implement Lifetime Sports programs.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess an Associate's degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Physical/Health Education, Nutrition, or a related field, and two years of work experience. A Bachelor's degree in Higher Education Administration, Recreation, Management, College Student Personnel, or a related area is preferred. The candidate should also have experience hosting and managing successful events, supervising staff, and possessing CPR/First Aid Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Progressive leadership and administrative experience within a college's Student Affairs Department and Athletics is highly preferred. The candidate should also have knowledge of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) standards and requirements.
