Augmented Reality Fullstack Engineer

At ZAUBAR, we are crafting a revolutionary approach to exploration—immersive journeys enhanced by location-based augmented reality that are engaging, enjoyable, and educational. We are collaborating with some of the most intriguing cultural institutions, media outlets, tour operators, and brands in Germany to bring these immersive experiences to life.
Our vision is to empower anyone to create, share, and monetize their own immersive tours.
Our founders and team members possess extensive backgrounds in AI, 3D UI, and journalism.
We are seeking an experienced game developer who has successfully launched multiple projects using Unity or similar interactive applications.
You will tackle complex challenges related to device and game platform functionality, leveraging your practical technical skills.
Collaboration is key; you will work effectively with others to provide technical insights on identified challenges.
As part of a small team, your code will be deployed rapidly, and you will take charge of development, testing, and ensuring code quality.
This position demands a high level of ownership over the product code and close collaboration with the team.
You will also engage with creative and product teams to strategize new features and prioritize challenges and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement the architecture of a platform catering to both creators and consumers.
- Develop various gameplay mechanics and client/server components.
- Enhance performance for mobile device playback (iOS, Android, AR Glasses).
- Establish in-house pipelines to improve output in coding, artwork, and quality assurance.
- Review pull requests and contribute to team development.
- Maintain open communication with engineers, designers, and management.
- Proactively enhance your skills to stay at the forefront of augmented reality development.
- Mentor new developers as part of the team.
- Create solutions that resonate with users.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development with high-level programming languages.
- At least 3 years of experience with Unity or a comparable game engine, having delivered multiple products.
- Strong understanding of real-time performance optimization.
- Shader knowledge is a plus.
- A friendly and open-minded approach to teamwork.
- Commitment to problem-solving until completion.
