The Director of Human Resources for Europe is tasked with steering and overseeing all facets of the Human Resources (HR) division for a prominent global entity in the automotive components manufacturing sector. This position entails crafting and executing HR strategies, policies, and practices that align with the organization’s objectives and foster a constructive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Oversight

  • Formulate and execute HR strategies that resonate with the organization’s mission, vision, and operational goals.
  • Provide counsel to senior leadership on HR-related issues and partake in strategic planning and decision-making processes.

Talent Acquisition and Recruitment

  • Supervise the recruitment lifecycle, encompassing job advertisements, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Devise and implement robust talent acquisition strategies aimed at attracting and retaining high-caliber professionals.

Workplace Relations

  • Promote a positive and efficient work atmosphere through effective communication, conflict resolution, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Address employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and separations, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and legal standards.

Performance Evaluation

  • Design and implement performance evaluation systems, incorporating goal setting, performance assessments, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Offer coaching and support to managers and staff to enhance performance and career progression.

Learning and Development

  • Assess training and development needs throughout the organization and implement programs to meet those needs.
  • Oversee the creation and delivery of training initiatives, leadership development programs, and succession planning.

Compensation and Benefits Management

  • Develop and oversee competitive compensation and benefits frameworks that align with industry benchmarks and support employee retention and satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of compensation structures and benefits offerings to ensure competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.

Compliance and Risk Mitigation

  • Ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Establish and implement HR policies and procedures that promote compliance and mitigate risks.

HR Analytics and Reporting

  • Develop and maintain HR metrics and reports to monitor and analyze critical HR data, such as turnover rates, employee satisfaction, and recruitment statistics.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to guide HR strategies and decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Progressive HR leadership experience within the automotive and/or automotive components manufacturing industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Professional HR certification is highly desirable.
  • Thorough understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and other HR technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken German and English.
