Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated:

  • Senior Buyer (m/f/d)
Key Responsibilities
  • Autonomously select suppliers and negotiate quotes.
  • Initiate and lead projects aimed at cost optimization.
  • Negotiate and prepare framework agreements along with annual pricing discussions.
  • Engage in Make-or-Buy decision processes.
  • Manage and execute outsourcing projects commercially.
  • Conduct procurement market research for designated material categories.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Global Sourcing, and Purchasing Management to develop commodity strategies.
  • Identify and cultivate strategic suppliers based on quality, delivery performance, and cost efficiency, in partnership with Quality Management and process engineers.
  • Support supplier audits and site visits.
  • Oversee all supplier correspondence, including communication in English when necessary.
  • Participate in Operations-related projects or subprojects.
  • Independently prepare and analyze key metrics as required.
  • Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and maintain relevant purchasing master data.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic procurement of direct materials within a manufacturing environment.
Skills and Competencies
  • A motivated team player with a proactive approach and intercultural awareness.
  • Effective communication skills for both internal and cross-site collaboration within a matrix organization.
  • Creative in developing negotiation strategies.
  • Responsible with the ability to prioritize tasks to achieve results in cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient negotiation skills in both German and English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of value analysis and product costing.
  • Technical acumen paired with business-oriented thinking and actions.
  • Experience in project management, particularly in New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI) projects, is advantageous.
  • Proficient in modern IT tools, including Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
  • Exhibits strong presence and implementation capabilities, along with high resilience and adaptability.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
