Evangelische Stadtmission Freiburg e.V. stands as a prominent employer in the region, with a dedicated workforce of approximately 850 individuals. Our organization is deeply committed to social services, supported by over 400 volunteers who embody our Christian values in their daily endeavors. We provide assistance to various groups, including seniors, individuals requiring care, those facing addiction challenges, long-term unemployed persons, children, and adolescents, alongside our mission-driven services.
Your Role
We are in search of passionate professionals eager to contribute to an innovative intercultural initiative focused on child and youth welfare. This role offers a platform for you to share your insights and play a significant part in our mission. The children and teenagers are accommodated in a nurturing, family-oriented environment.
The position is flexible, ranging from 50% to 100% commitment, and is initially offered for one year, with the potential for extension.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for children and teenagers within a structured daily framework, which includes recreational activities, personalized support, assistance with educational challenges, and life skills development.
- Engage actively with the children to co-create their daily activities.
- Oversee the individual care of designated children.
- Work collaboratively and respectfully within family group settings.
- Establish connections with local social committees and work closely with relevant authorities, educational institutions, and other youth welfare organizations.
- Participate in shift work within the residential groups.
Your Qualifications
We are seeking candidates with qualifications in fields such as social education, therapeutic education, psychology, occupational therapy, special education, or social work. Preferred candidates will have relevant professional experience, adaptability, strong teamwork capabilities, a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, and alignment with our Christian values.
