About Us
Evangelische Stadtmission Freiburg e.V. stands as a prominent employer in the region, boasting a workforce of approximately 850 individuals. Our organization is dedicated to social services, supported by over 400 volunteers who embody our Christian values in their daily endeavors. We provide assistance to various groups, including seniors, individuals requiring care, those facing addiction challenges, long-term unemployed persons, as well as children and adolescents. Our current focus is on professionals who can provide care for children and teenagers who have fled from Ukraine.
Your Role
We seek passionate colleagues eager to collaborate on a new intercultural initiative within the realm of child and youth welfare. This role offers the chance to contribute innovative ideas and engage in meaningful work. The children and teenagers reside in a nurturing, family-like environment.
The position offers flexibility, ranging from 50% to 100% of full-time hours, and is initially a one-year commitment with the potential for extension.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care for children and teenagers within a structured daily framework, which includes recreational activities, personalized support, assistance with learning challenges, and life skills development.
- Actively participate in shaping daily group activities with the children.
- Take responsibility for the individual care of designated children.
- Engage proactively and respectfully within family group settings.
- Establish connections with local social committees and collaborate closely with relevant authorities, educational institutions, and other youth welfare organizations.
- Work in residential groups will be conducted in shifts.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with qualifications in one of the following fields: social education, therapeutic education, psychology, occupational therapy, special education, or social work. Ideal candidates will possess professional experience, adaptability, teamwork abilities, a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, and a dedication to intercultural collaboration. Alignment with our Christian values is essential.
