Job Title: Senior General Manager - Operations & Business Development

Nippon Express Europe GmbH is a leading global logistics service provider with a strong presence in the German and CEE market. Our company offers a wide range of services including air freight, ocean freight, road freight, warehousing, and supply chain management solutions. With a network spanning over 24 locations in Germany and CEE countries, we pride ourselves on delivering truly exceptional services and solutions in the Japanese-style to our global customers.

We are currently looking for a highly qualified and dynamic individual to take on the role of Senior General Manager - Operations & Business Development Germany and our subsidiaries in CEE.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a robust business strategy that aligns with both local and regional objectives and targets.
  • Lead and motivate a diverse team, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve operational excellence and consistently deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Manage and optimize operational resources, including budget management, forecasting, and effective cost control measures.
  • Drive business development initiatives, identifying new market opportunities and establishing potential partnerships that contribute to the growth and success of the company.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify potential business opportunities and risks.
  • Effectively coordinate and manage the Sales, Product, and Operational functions of the company.
  • Oversee and guide teams in achieving significant business growth and maintaining strong relationships with key clients.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a senior management role within the logistics industry, with a track record of driving business growth and operational excellence.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate decentralized teams.
  • Excellent business acumen and strategic thinking, with a focus on achieving ambitious results.
  • Experience in the logistics or transportation industry, with a solid knowledge of the global air- and seafreight business.
  • Strong financial and KPI mindset, with the ability to manage budgets and analyze financial and operational data.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both German and English.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives.
  • Knowledge of local (German) regulations and industry standards.
  • Fluency in German and English is required.
  • Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
