As our Director of Neurological Affairs and MSL Excellence (m/f/d) Region Europe, you will shape and implement the medical vision across multiple European territories through various affiliates. Key focus areas encompass movement disorders (post-stroke spasticity, dystonia, blepharospasm), Parkinson's disease, and multiple sclerosis. This position merges strategic foresight with operational proficiency to align with our growth aspirations while guiding and motivating a committed medical team.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Direction: Formulate and execute a medical vision for specialized neurology, in harmony with global objectives. Identify market prospects and challenges within the neurology sector across the region. Ensure strategies are converted into actionable initiatives at the affiliate level.
  • Team Leadership and Growth: Inspire and lead a team of medical professionals, cultivating a high-performance environment. Provide strategic guidance to local MSL Managers. Implement educational programs to keep the medical team informed on advancements in neurology.
  • Medical Operations: Assist affiliates in clinical development, medical education, and publication strategies. Review and endorse scientific content for communications. Ensure adherence to regulations and ethical standards.
  • MSL Excellence: Supervise MSL operations across Europe, ensuring consistency in scientific communication. Develop and standardize best practices for MSLs. Monitor MSL performance, offering training and constructive feedback.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with KOLs, healthcare professionals, and external partners in neurology. Represent the organization at conferences and advisory boards. Facilitate collaborations with research institutions and partners.
  • KOL Strategy: Define and oversee the regional KOL engagement strategy. Cultivate relationships with KOLs and other medical stakeholders, including patient advocacy groups.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., GPTs, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs) to align medical strategies with commercial objectives. Ensure cooperation with non-medical functions (e.g., Legal, HR) for various projects.
  • Financial Planning and Management: Develop and oversee the medical budget in alignment with financial objectives and strategy. Allocate resources across channels and initiatives to optimize returns.
  • Organizational Development and Compliance: Operate in accordance with SOPs, compliance policies, and procedures. Contribute to compliance documentation.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Medical degree or PhD in natural sciences with a focus on neurology is essential
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical marketing with an emphasis on CNS
  • Demonstrated success in defining & executing medical strategies; effectively managing medical budgets
  • Ability to build, motivate & lead high-performing teams including MSLs. Strategic thinking & problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong project management expertise
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, fluent in English with the ability to articulate complex scientific concepts
  • Collaborative team player with innovative thinking and a performance-oriented mindset
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 40%
