Senior Mechanical Engineer

Join Volocopter GmbH, a pioneering company in electric air taxis, as a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Propulsion. We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our structural design efforts for propulsion units.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement structural design strategies for propulsion units, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards and regulations.
- Lead structural analysis and testing activities, including fatigue, damage tolerance, and static strength evaluations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test strategies, select test benches, and prepare test plans and reports.
- Apply FEM simulation tools and hand calculations to analyze structural behavior and optimize design.
- Master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with a focus on structural analysis and validation of composite and metallic structures.
- Experience with PLM software, preferably Siemens Teamcenter.
- Knowledge of static, fatigue, thermal, and vibration analysis in structures.
- Hands-on experience with test activities, including defining test parameters and preparing relevant documentation.
- Experience with aerospace standards and development processes, such as CS23/CS27/SC-VTOL/DO-160G/EHPS.
- Experience with HyperMesh, Nastran, and OptiStruct.
- Experience with software-related project management, such as Jira.
