Job Summary:

The Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and conducting preventive maintenance (including installation and training) on FLIR's detection instruments for chemical, biological, radiation, and explosive threats, both at our facility and at client locations.

Key Responsibilities:

Acquire in-depth knowledge of FLIR's gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC/MS) and detection product offerings. Execute installations of FLIR hardware and software in various environments. Provide comprehensive training on product operation, both on-site and remotely. Troubleshoot and repair detection instruments in-house and on location. Address and resolve customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner. Document troubleshooting processes and solutions in the product knowledge base. Anticipate travel requirements of approximately 25% for fieldwork. Engage in ongoing professional development through internal training initiatives.

Qualifications:

Preferred educational background includes a degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, biotechnology, electrical engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on analytical chemistry. Practical experience in the assembly and repair of electronic systems, including knowledge of vacuum technology and mechanics. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients. Willingness to travel to the United States for training purposes. Proficiency in English is required.

This role necessitates access to sensitive information and compliance with export control regulations. Candidates must be eligible to obtain the necessary export control licenses.
