Job Description:
As a Technical Sustainability Manager for the Global Tubular Glass division, you will be pivotal in executing Gerresheimer's sustainability strategy for our Tubular Glass business unit. This role involves close collaboration with our Tubular Glass sites globally and maintaining effective communication with colleagues from corporate sustainability as well as technical sustainability managers from other divisions.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee the implementation of the sustainability strategy along with global standards and requirements within the Tubular Glass business unit worldwide.
  • Establish and monitor initiatives and programs aimed at achieving defined sustainability objectives.
  • Identify best practices concerning environmental issues such as energy, water, waste, and emissions, and promote their application at production sites.
  • Enhance sustainability awareness through activities including training, communication, and other exchange formats.
  • Ensure systematic data collection within the business unit for internal and external sustainability reporting in collaboration with the corporate sustainability management of the Gerresheimer Group.
  • Participate in national and international working groups in the sustainability sector and provide advice to business unit management.
  • Support customer-specific projects, such as Product Carbon Footprint initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess trends and legal requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Successfully completed studies in environmental technology, engineering, natural sciences, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Initial relevant professional experience in sustainability management within a manufacturing company, preferably in the packaging sector.
  • Technical understanding and interest in implementing ecological sustainability at the production site or process and product levels.
  • Experience with external sustainability reporting standards is advantageous.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
  • Assertiveness, high self-motivation, and a problem-solving hands-on mentality.
  • Willingness to travel.
