As a Technical Sustainability Manager for our Global Tubular Glass business unit, you will be responsible for implementing Gerresheimer's sustainability strategy worldwide. This role involves collaborating with colleagues from corporate sustainability and technical sustainability managers from other business units to ensure the successful execution of our sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities- Strategy Implementation: Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the sustainability strategy and global standards within the Tubular Glass business unit worldwide.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Establish and monitor initiatives and programs to achieve defined sustainability goals, including identifying best practices related to environmental issues such as energy, water, waste, and emissions.
- Awareness and Training: Improve sustainability awareness through activities such as training, communication, and exchange formats to promote the implementation of ecological sustainability at production sites and process levels.
- Data Collection and Reporting: Ensure systematic data collection within the business unit for internal and external sustainability reporting in cooperation with the corporate sustainability management of the Gerresheimer Group.
- Industry Collaboration: Participate in national and international working groups in the sustainability field and advise business unit management on sustainability-related matters.
- Customer Projects: Support customer-specific projects, such as Product Carbon Footprint.
- Trend Observation and Evaluation: Observe and evaluate trends and legal requirements related to sustainability.
- Completed studies in environmental technology, engineering, natural sciences, or equivalent qualification.
- Initial relevant professional experience in sustainability management in a manufacturing company, preferably in the packaging industry.
- Technical understanding and interest in implementing ecological sustainability at the production site or process level.
- Experience in dealing with external sustainability reporting standards is advantageous.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
- Assertiveness, high self-motivation, and a problem-solving hands-on mentality.
- Willingness to travel.
