Job Description

Our robotics team is seeking a skilled and experienced Robotics Technical Project Manager to join our diverse team. In this role, you will design, build, and deploy innovative robotic systems and their components, such as end-of-arm tools. The ideal candidate has experience designing and analyzing mechanical systems, enjoys analytical problem-solving, and possesses practical knowledge of manufacturing methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive requirements, design, prototype, and evaluate robotic workcells
  • Coordinate with external interfaces with suppliers and contractors
  • Collect business and systems requirements from internal and external customers
  • Write specifications and drive project schedules from design to release
  • Manage the deployment and launch processes
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment
  • 3+ years of leading projects with multi-disciplinary teams of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers
  • Established background in Robotics or Mechatronic Systems with technology focus in actuator and sensor evaluation
  • Experience related to systems architecture, design, and system integration of mechatronic devices
  • SolidWorks or similar CAD experience with best practices for part design, advanced assemblies, complex configuration management
  • Familiar with using and the capabilities of rapid prototyping equipment (CNC, 3D printing, waterjet, laser cutter)
  • Built and deployed robots to production environments
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with the capability to develop creative and effective hardware solutions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide training and guidance to co-workers
  • Fluent English
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in the design of robotic hardware
  • Strong hands-on experience with the ability to craft simple proof-of-concept models
  • Thorough understanding and use of principals, theories, and concepts in mechanical engineering
  • Proficiency with Agile Product Lifecycle Management PLM software and ECO's
  • Significant experience with the hardware product development process
  • Demonstrated ability to develop deep understanding of the business and end-user needs quickly, and can proficiently translate those needs into the right technology solution
  • Demonstrated small/large team leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent German
