About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our platform engineering teams. As a key member of our technical leadership, you will be responsible for ensuring our products and underlying workloads meet the expected production and operational quality standards. You will be a practical leadership personality who builds high-performing teams and individuals, ensures goal achievement, and aligns technical excellence with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead 1-2 engineer teams, providing guidance, mentoring, performance evaluation, and support for team success and professional growth.
  • Technical Vision and Strategy: Collaborate closely with our technical leadership to shape our technical culture and align technical strategies with overall business objectives (including VPs, Heads of, Architecture, Security Officer).
  • Enterprise-Wide Technical Excellence: Drive and promote enterprise-wide tech initiatives, overseeing their entire lifecycle with your teams. Key focus areas include SRE and Security, covering operational excellence, IT processes (e.g., Incident Management), offensive and defensive security.
  • Talent Acquisition: Work with our recruitment team to attract and retain top technical talent.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated success in hiring and leading teams that deliver high-availability, distributed systems.
  • Multiple years of practical experience in Site Reliability Engineering and Security Engineering.
  • Experience with product discovery methods for (internal) customers.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-changing, dynamic environment.
  • Clear and compelling written and verbal communication in English, German is an asset.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with Threat Modeling, OWASP SAMM, Security Information & Event Management (SIEM).
  • Bonus: Familiarity with ISO27001, PCI-DSS, Kritis.
