Job Title: Authorized Inspector

TüV Süd America, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Authorized Inspector to join our team. As an Authorized Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with ASME and National Board codes and standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct shop and field inspections to verify compliance with ASME and National Board codes and standards.
  • Verify that Certificate Holders have valid Certificates of Authorization and are in compliance with ASME and National Board requirements.
  • Monitor the Certificate Holder's quality program and ensure that it meets ASME and National Board requirements.
  • Verify that all applicable design drawings, specifications, and instructions are complete and accurately reflect ASME and National Board requirements.
  • Verify that design calculations are complete and meet ASME and National Board requirements.
  • Verify that only intended and identified material is used in code construction.
  • Verify that material is identified, documented, and remains traceable in accordance with the Certificate Holder's quality program and ASME and National Board requirements.
  • Verify ASME and National Board-required documentation for material is available for review.
  • Review and accept non-conformance dispositions and verify corrective actions performed.
  • Verify all records are complete, accurate, maintained, and retained as required by ASME and National Board codes and standards.
Requirements:
  • Current and valid National Board Authorized Inspector Commission.
  • Designated as Authorized Inspector by TüV Süd America, Inc.
  • Meet the experience criteria listed in RCI-1 Table 1.
  • Satisfactory completion of the National Board "New Construction Commission" course.
  • Valid and current National Board Commission card.
  • Attended the National Board course for Authorized Inspectors and received a passing grade on the Authorized Inspector exam given by the National Board.
  • Minimum of 80 hours on-the-job training in ASME shop/field fabrication and inspection under the supervision of a designated Authorized Inspector.
