We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join our Amazon AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) in Fulfillment team at Amazon Development Center Germany GmbH. As a Postdoctoral Research Scientist, you will play a key role in innovating on the fundamental science of AGI, including combining Large Language Models (LLMs) with classical AI task planning and AI reasoning.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with a senior science advisor to collaborate on research projects and contribute to the development of cutting-edge techniques in AI and robotics.
- Publish your research in top-tier academic venues and hone your presentation skills to effectively communicate your findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Be inspired by challenges and opportunities to invent new techniques in your area(s) of expertise and contribute to the advancement of AI and robotics research.
You will meet with your science advisor to discuss your ideas for the project, receive guidance and feedback, and work together on architectures and algorithms to achieve your goals. You will also collaborate with other scientists to review your plans and results, and work with engineers to implement the architecture, carry out training and inference.
About the TeamThe Amazon AGI for Fulfillment Team is a new science team working at the boundary between LLMs, classical AI planning and reasoning, inspired by our problems in fulfillment, automation and robotics. We focus on high-quality research science informed by practical problems.
Basic Qualifications- PhD in a relevant field, ideally received within 2 years of starting the program.
- Publication record in either LLMs, LLMs for reasoning, classical AI Reasoning, AI Planning, AI theorem proving, AI proof planning, or other related technical fields.
- Experience in machine learning practice and experience of experimental analysis.
- Proficiency in other relevant technologies.
- Ability to independently deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Publications at top-tier, peer-reviewed conferences and/or journals.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Expert knowledge in the scientific domain.
- Practical skills in relevant software frameworks (e.g. Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, LLM training, AI reasoning).
