Position Overview
The role of the Steward is vital in ensuring exceptional service by supporting the organization and management of kitchen and bar activities. Reporting directly to the Chef de Cuisine, the Steward is tasked with maintaining cleanliness of kitchen tools, dishes, glassware, and culinary equipment, while consistently restocking clean items at designated stations. The ethos at Clärchens Ballhaus emphasizes that every task is significant, and our Stewards are expected to navigate challenges with flexibility, assisting various departments to enhance the overall guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in culinary environments for high-profile entertainment venues.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and excellent time management.
- Maintain cleanliness in kitchen workspaces, bar areas, and staff zones in compliance with HACCP standards.
- Proficient in operating commercial kitchen equipment, including dishwashers, and capable of manual dishwashing.
- Ensure all kitchen appliances, such as food mixers, refrigerators, and ovens, are functioning properly, reporting any malfunctions to management.
- Keep dish and glass washing machines clean, regularly changing water and ensuring jets are free from blockages.
- Utilize appropriate cleaning chemicals for surfaces and equipment.
- Carefully wash and organize kitchen utensils, china, and glassware to prevent breakage.
- Restock plates in designated areas for culinary staff.
- Organize silverware for front-of-house polishing and restocking.
- Receive and store food and beverage deliveries in suitable locations to maintain quality.
- Dispose of kitchen waste properly and hygienically.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and company policies related to front-of-house operations.
