Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will lead and transform all procurement activities, managing both direct and indirect commodities, and guiding a global team of 50+ professionals across various regions. As the Chief Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for the entire procurement function, overseeing a total spend of €2.4 billion EUR, driving strategic initiatives, and building robust, long-term relationships with suppliers worldwide. This role requires flexibility, with up to 50% global travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Oversee Procurement Efforts: Direct and indirect commodities on a global scale, ensuring strategic alignment with business objectives.
  • Manage and Mentor a High-Performing Team: Lead a team of 50+ employees across multiple regions, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Oversee Global Budget: Manage a global budget of €2.4 billion EUR, ensuring effective allocation and optimization of resources.
  • Develop Strategic Supplier Partnerships: Conduct in-depth market analyses, develop, and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers worldwide.
  • Spearhead Innovation: Guide product development and cost optimization initiatives, driving business growth and profitability.
  • Develop and Implement Advanced Procurement Strategies: Refine and implement advanced procurement strategies and processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Drive Transformational Projects: Lead transformational projects with a focus on achieving millions in cost savings, driving business growth and profitability.
  • Global Travel: Travel globally up to 50% to engage with suppliers, teams, and key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree: In Engineering or a related field; a master's degree or higher is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 15+ years of progressive experience in procurement, with significant expertise in both direct and indirect commodities, particularly in electronics, semiconductors, and related sectors.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven leadership experience managing global teams and delivering substantial, multi-million euro cost savings.
  • Transformational Projects: Demonstrated success in leading large-scale, transformational projects, including greenfield initiatives.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in both German and English is mandatory, with proficiency in additional languages being an asset.
  • Strategic Vision: Strong strategic vision, with the ability to influence and drive change at all organizational levels.
