Our primary focus is on battery energy storage systems (BESS), which are vital for creating a flexible and eco-friendly power grid. By supplying energy at critical times, we enhance the reliability and efficiency of the power grid while minimizing carbon emissions.
Position OverviewTerra One is in search of a Grid Connection Manager to oversee the development of battery projects. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will serve as the key liaison for grid operators and provide guidance to the project development team:
- Advising on power grid connections to facilitate the identification of new battery storage initiatives
- Engaging in technical discussions and communications with grid operators and certification bodies
- Preparing applications and requests for network connections
- Assessing technical connection requirements and negotiating network connection agreements
- Coordinating the planning and approval processes for substations, transfer stations, and cable routes in collaboration with experienced consultants
- Assisting the procurement team in negotiations and tender processes
- Conducting ongoing network analysis to identify optimal regions for storage projects and supporting strategic development
- Collaborating on the evolution of the market for grid-related services
- Overseeing certification processes
- Recruiting, training, and leading a team of grid connection managers to support Terra One's expansion across Germany and Europe
A degree in Business Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field with relevant experience
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in similar positions with a grid operator or engineering firm/project developer
- Strong motivation to thrive in a complex environment: organized, open-minded, and capable of working independently; adept at managing multiple projects concurrently
- High ethical standards, integrity, and sound judgment
- A passion for learning, intellectual curiosity, and self-drive
- Fluency in German and proficiency in English
- Valid driver's license (Class B)
