Grid Code Compliance Specialist

Fluence, a global market leader in energy storage and optimization software, is seeking a Grid Code Compliance Engineer to join their Global Product and Technology team in the EMEA region. This role will focus on ensuring grid connections are achieved end-to-end in a timely manner, working closely with stakeholders to address compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with grid codes and regulations.
- Support grid modeling studies and troubleshooting for BESS system grid connections.
- Conduct preliminary modeling and assessments for connection requirements in EMEA, Asia-Pacific, and provision project-specific documents.
- Provide technical expertise on the interaction between BESS power converter systems and the utility/grid under various system events and operating conditions.
- Assist technical teams in maintaining and updating proprietary dynamic models.
- Conduct feasibility and locational studies to identify and evaluate opportunities.
- Support modeling requirements and activities in the Asia-Pacific region.
- Mastery of power system analysis and control simulation tools, including Python scripting.
- Knowledge of utility grid interconnection standards, such as UL/IEEE standards, North American ISO/RTO requirements, and European grid codes.
- Experience in review of grid connection compliance design.
- Master's Degree in electrical engineering with emphasis on power systems or renewable energy systems, or 3-5 years of work experience.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and manage consultants and designers across multiple projects.
