This includes the licensing of private broadcasting entities, program oversight, and general supervision of media service providers within the region. A key aspect of NLM's mission involves active participation in the governance of state media authorities. We are currently seeking a Media Oversight Specialist (m/f/d) to join our team on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing private broadcasting content and telemedia services in compliance with applicable laws
  • Focusing on telemedia oversight, particularly in the realms of editorial standards, advertising practices, and Impressum regulations
  • Evaluating media content through the lens of legal frameworks and journalistic quality benchmarks
  • Conducting supervisory procedures for telemedia providers and broadcasters
  • Drafting decision-making documents and contributing to working groups within state media authorities
  • Coordinating monitoring and research initiatives to detect potential regulatory breaches
  • Addressing complaints and public inquiries

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Communication, Media Studies, or a related discipline
  • Experience in journalism, preferably with a completed traineeship
  • Familiarity with media regulation, especially concerning editorial integrity, advertising, and Impressum
