Position Overview: The Branch Lead for Climate Strategy & Risk is responsible for guiding the development and execution of innovative solutions, knowledge management, and training initiatives within the Climate Strategy & Risk team in Germany. This role involves close collaboration with the Global Climate Strategy Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact in Germany for all matters related to Climate Strategy & Risk, overseeing project sales and delivery.
- Manage a team of professionals (currently 2, with plans for expansion) and ensure the right personnel are assigned to projects based on their skills and development needs.
- Provide recommendations on team structure and competencies in alignment with the evolving business needs of the branch.
- Lead and mentor team members, fostering an environment focused on continuous improvement, growth, and high-quality project outcomes.
- Act as a subject matter expert in climate-related topics, contributing to project discussions and providing insights that drive successful outcomes.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a professional setting, preferably within the consulting sector, with a strong focus on Climate Strategy & Risk.
- Advanced knowledge of core areas such as goal setting (Science-Based Targets, Net Zero), mitigation strategies, risk assessment, and carbon accounting frameworks.
- A Master's or PhD in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Proven leadership and project management capabilities, with experience in motivating and guiding teams towards achieving objectives.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German is a significant advantage.
