Researcher in Ion Channel Dynamics (f/m/x)
focusing on
– Ion Channel Dynamics and Simulations –

Candidates will engage in research on topics such as:

  • The interplay between channel dynamics and ion permeation.
  • Cooperative behavior of ion channels.
  • Mechanisms of C-type inactivation in Kv and K2P channels.
  • Gating mechanisms of potassium channels influenced by pressure, temperature, or pH.

Candidate Profile

Ideal applicants will possess a strong foundation in computational molecular physics, structural biology, and scientific computing, along with a passion for interdisciplinary research and collaboration with experimental teams.

Candidates for the researcher role should hold a PhD or equivalent degree in relevant fields, while those applying for the PhD position should have a Master's degree or be nearing completion of their studies in related disciplines.

Position Overview

PhD candidates will have the chance to enroll in various PhD programs, with funding for three years, in partnership with a local university. The researcher position is initially for two years, with the possibility of extension.

Compensation and benefits are aligned with the guidelines of the German Public Service Payscale. The institute aims to fill the position promptly, with flexibility regarding the start date.
