Firefighter (Aircraft Rescue)

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a Firefighter, you will be responsible for providing emergency response services to multiple sites within our Army installation, including diverse fire hazards such as highly flammable liquids, high explosives, and radioactive materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to emergency situations, including fires, hazardous material incidents, and rescue operations
  • Operate firefighting equipment, including aerial ladders, hoses, and breathing apparatus
  • Collaborate with host nation fire departments and other emergency responders
  • Participate in regular training and exercises to maintain and improve skills
Requirements:
  • Minimum Basic Requirements: Completed lower secondary school (Hauptschulabschluss) and German certification as basic firefighter (abgeschlossene Feuerwehrgrundausbildung, gemaess Feuerwehrdienstvorschrift 2 (FwDV2))
  • Additional Requirements: Completed training in accordance with the guidelines of the US Forces Fire Prevention Program, host nation equivalent National Emergency Medical Technician (NEMT) certification, and DoD certification as Firefighter I & II, Driver Operator Pumper, DOD HAZMAT operations, Host Nation SCBA certification (Ausbildung zum Atemschutzgeraetetraeger gem. FwDV 2), and radio communicator training (Ausbildung zum Sprechfunker gem. FwDV2)
Working Conditions:
  • Work on holidays and weekends, as well as 24-hour shift work
  • Heavy lifting up to 80 lbs. required
  • Occasional TDY (temporary duty) required
