Chief, Optical Activities Division

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Chief, Optical Activities Division for U.S. Army Europe and Africa. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Serves as the direct advisor to the Commander on all matters pertaining to optical fabrication activities, including production, supply, equipment, maintenance, and annual operating budget.
- Provides advice and consultation on the concept of optical support to two Combatant Commands and indirectly supporting a third, CENTCOM.
- Interprets regulations, policies, and highly technical directives from higher authorities and develops and implements local policies to ensure strict compliance and patient safety and satisfaction.
- Conducts analysis to streamline processes, create efficiencies in production, and promotes team building and improves procedures.
- Makes periodic inspections of work, analyzes operations and performance reports, and confers with authorities of other activities to ensure overall objectives, quantity, and quality requirements are being accomplished.
- Implements actions to improve operations and reduce cost, and reviews work and accepts or rejects products.
- Provides authoritative technical advice and guidance to the floor supervisor and NCOIC, management, and staff of OAD.
- Consults with industry and governmental technical personnel regarding requirements and capabilities, lead times, costs, and other related matters.
- Analyzes supply data, reviews customer complaints, and higher headquarters reports to identify adverse trends and initiates/recommends studies, corrective action, and program improvements.
- Ensures all reporting requirements are met and reviews significant correspondence for adequacy.
- English Language Proficiency level C1 required.
- German Language Proficiency level C1 required.
- Office automation skills are required.
- Experience in the same or similar line of work as the job for which considered, with a minimum of 2 years of creditable experience as defined in A below, PLUS 5 years of experience as defined in B below, PLUS 1 year as defined in C below.
This is a 1x permanent, full-time (38.5 hrs/week) position. Employee must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
