Ideally, this individual will have experience in both in-house and outsourced payroll systems to ensure a top-tier experience for all employees.
This position is a full-time role for an 18-month duration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of 1-3 Payroll Specialists, instilling a culture of continuous development and providing guidance for decision-making.
- Exhibit advanced skills in managing intricate international payrolls, including the collection, validation, and execution of payroll-related data for multiple countries.
- Collaborate with the Head of Payroll Operations to enhance our service delivery model, ensuring we maintain adequate capacity and capability for all payroll processes while minimizing risks.
- Deliver an exceptional payroll experience for employees, addressing complex issues through thorough root cause analysis and corrective measures.
- Compile and analyze key Payroll, HR, and Finance data to establish global payroll key performance indicators and service level agreements, measuring process efficiency.
- Adopt a mindset of continuous improvement to refine and automate payroll processes, working alongside the Payroll Operational Excellence team to create a modern, scalable payroll framework.
- Formulate payroll policies and practices, ensuring compliance with local regulations to meet payroll and tax obligations.
- Ensure the integrity of payroll data across integrated HR and payroll systems, promptly identifying and correcting discrepancies.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including collaboration with our outsourced payroll vendor to guarantee accurate and timely payroll for global teams.
- Assist with audit-related tasks as required.
- Opportunity to engage in a Payroll Partnering role with key cross-functional stakeholders.
- Take charge of your professional development plan and work with your Team Lead to achieve your objectives, while also providing backup support to colleagues when necessary.
- Complete any additional tasks assigned by the Team Lead.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of core payroll management and processes.
- Experience in payroll leadership on both vendor and client sides is a significant advantage.
- Passion for payroll and related technologies and processes.
- Hands-on experience in payroll process design is a notable asset.
- Previous exposure to global payroll systems and Workday (or similar enterprise HR systems) is highly regarded.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and a sense of ownership.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, comfortable with remote collaboration using digital tools such as Slack and Zoom.
- Strong communication skills, with proficiency in English and German.
