Job Title: Director Field Application Engineering

As a Director of Field Application Engineering, you will be responsible for leading a team of Field Application Engineers (FAEs) and enabling them to succeed in their roles. Your primary goal will be to drive business growth and revenue through effective FAE organization and management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of FAEs, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet their targets and goals.
  • FAE Organization: Continuously adopt and implement best practices in FAE organization, ensuring alignment with market development and Infineon's strategic targets.
  • Design Win Targets: Drive FAEs to achieve design win targets and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to enable further business growth.
  • Joint Innovation: Collaborate with leading customers to drive joint innovation and ensure Infineon's competitiveness in the future.
  • FAE Enablement: Help FAEs maximize future business by providing a holistic view of the application, focusing on the complete Infineon portfolio.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Assist FAEs in aligning with stakeholders along their projects, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Resource Allocation: Manage FAE resource allocation based on expected return on investment (ROI), promoting an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Expectation Alignment: Align expectations and responsibilities towards the FAE organization with other stakeholders inside and outside Infineon.
  • Continuous Learning: Foster continuous learning for FAEs, aiming to become trusted advisors to customers and supporting their career development.

As a leader, you will prioritize trust, respect, and transparency in your interactions with colleagues, employees, and partners. You will also be responsible for identifying and attracting top talent, driving alignment with key stakeholders, and managing multiple interfaces.

Requirements for this role include:

  • A university degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field.
  • At least 8 years of professional experience within the semiconductor or power electronics market.
  • Experience as a team leader, with the ability to identify and attract talents.
  • Capability to identify early trends in applications and competitive threats.
  • Analytical skills for identifying and assessing unique value propositions, selling points, and product competitiveness.
  • Ability to drive alignment with key stakeholders and manage multiple, multilevel interfaces.
  • Strategic thinking, business sense, entrepreneurial view, and a good understanding of process management, digitalization, and change management.
  • Experience with state-of-the-art CRM systems like Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Project management skills based on proactive follow-up.
  • Excellent English communication and presentation skills, with German as a plus.
