Senior Director of Health Economics

Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned professional in health economics and market access who has successfully navigated submissions to various health authorities including NICE, SMC, NCPE, HAS, and G-BA.
This role requires a strategic mindset and the ability to provide insightful guidance to pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. You should possess a strong foundation in scientific selling and be adept in all scientific matters. Your experience in leading teams will be invaluable as you expand your influence in establishing a new HEOR and market access division across Europe.
You will be at the forefront of initiatives and team development.
Our operations will be bolstered by a robust Canadian team of 150 professionals with extensive experience in systematic reviews, advanced ITCs, global economic modeling, and medical writing (including GVDs, value propositions, AMCPs, and publications).
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive scientific sales efforts for new projects with both existing and prospective clients.
- Lead project teams and offer strategic advice to clients.
- Oversee the development of proposals.
- Delegate tasks and supervise junior staff and contractors.
- Manage projects with minimal guidance from senior leadership.
- Identify and resolve conflicts within project teams.
- Proactively manage project scope and challenges, creating contingency plans as necessary.
- Contribute to best practices in project management, employee development, and training.
- Participate in strategic discussions regarding company direction, staffing, and workload management.
- Engage in the hiring process.
- Mentor new and existing employees as needed.
- Attend management meetings to review proposals, project statuses, staffing, and operational matters.
- Oversee operational activities, including groups and committees.
- Identify opportunities for enhancing project and company efficiencies.
- Achieve revenue targets ranging from $1M to $3M.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- MSc or PhD in a medical or mathematics-related discipline such as biology, epidemiology, pharmacology, health economics, or statistics.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in health research, health economics, or a related field, preferably in a consulting environment.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Proven leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Strong customer focus with the ability to cultivate lasting business relationships.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to lead project teams and facilitate client meetings.
- Competence in prioritizing and executing tasks in high-pressure situations.
- Experience in business development and proposal creation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with programming software (e.g., VBA) or other relevant tools (e.g., EndNote, statistical packages) is advantageous.
- Capability to manage time effectively across multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with peers, senior management, and clients.
- Experience in supervising, training, and mentoring junior staff.
- Ability to provide strategic input for team projects.

- Understanding of current trends in health economics, statistics, data analytics, evidence synthesis, and medical writing.
